Thoughts on Florida

Things I found interesting about Florida that I did not know.

Zamboni on the Beaches

I never knew this but Florida has Zambonis on the beaches. At least in Hollywood Florida. They have machines that look like our ice grooming machines that you see in Canadian. But instead of patching up the ice these machines pick up garbage and smooth out the sand.

It makes sense if you think about it. If most of your business comes from tourism, you would want to present the best beaches to the world. People are messy. Beaches would need to be cleaned.

As a general rule you would never see these machines grooming the beach unless you are up at the crack of dawn. As a nature photographer I would see them every morning doing their thing. I found that interesting. I did not know they did that.
