The Hardest Part Of Photography

I have been at photography for a long time. For the past 14 years I have been taking pictures of nature with a vengeance. I have been reflecting on what I have done, I have come to the conclusion of what the hardest part of photography is.
You might thing that the hardest part of photography is buying the camera. Good cameras are expensive but you will find if you save a bit and work hard it does not take all that long to get a good camera in your hands. Free tip: do not buy the cheapest camera you can find. You will end up having to buy another one soon after. Buying a Camera is not the hardest part of photography.
You might think that learning how to use the camera is the hardest part. It does take a while to wrap you head around all the settings. It is a bit awkward learning how to shoot in manual mode at first but if you work at it hard you can learn that in a very short time. Over time it will just become second nature to you. Learning how to use the camera is not the hardest part of photography.
You might also think that the hardest part of photography is getting to remote locations I take my pictures at. It is true some times it takes a horrendous amount of work to

get a photo. Some times it make take days to recover from climbing some mountains but I do enjoy it. I revel in it. Hard work is not the hardest part of photography for me.
To me the hardest part of photography has been keeping the balance of family and photography.
Photography takes time and energy away from my family. Yes there are times when I am taking photos of the family or some gathering but the majority of my photography has to do with being alone in nature. The hardest part has been trying to find the healthy balance between being a good dad and father and still accomplish my goals and be the person I have been called to be. Not an easy task. Some times I fail at it and other times I pull it off like a pro.
I guess I could do another blog post on how I find that balance but for now I am just sharing what I have found to be the hardest part of photography. As always thanks for the peruse.
